APRIL Group is one of the world's largest producers of pulp and paper. APRIL’s pulp is used for different applications, including the production of tissue and specialty paper, while its paper products are used for printing and writing by millions of people every day. Its flagship brand PaperOneTM is made from 100% renewable fibre from plantations and is sold in more than 70 countries worldwide.

APRIL’s energy efficient mills have an annual production capacity of 2.8 million tons for pulp and 1.15 million tons for paper. These are certified under ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. APRIL is certified under the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) for sustainable management of its forests.

APRIL is one of the pioneers in the region for sustainability reporting, High Conservation Stock (HCS) and High Conservation Value (HCV) assessments, Chain of Custody certification, and the adoption of a landscape approach to fire management.

It works with environmental groups, local communities and other key stakeholders to implement best practices in the social, environmental and economic spheres. It is a member of Tropical Forest Alliance 2020, a global public-private partnership that promotes sustainable, deforestation-free supply chains.

APRIL's Sustainable Forest Management Policy (SFMP 2.0) governs its operations. It adopts the Production-Protection model of plantation, committing a 1-for-1 goal of conserving one hectare of forest for every hectare of plantation. It conserves 250,000 hectares of HCV forests and works with various stakeholders in a public-private partnership called Restorasi Ekosistem Riau (RER) to restore more than 150,000 hectares of ecologically vital peat forest in Indonesia’s Kampar Peninsula. A total of 400,000 hectares of forests are conserved and protected.
