Exhibition Hall has been selected by Rizhao City Science and Technology Association as one of National Science Education Base in Rizhao, China, an initiative that mobilizes the private sector to promulgate “science in practice” so as to improve science literacy in the community.
The Asia Symbol Pulp and Paper Exhibition Hall, at an investment of over RMB 5 million, was built in 2010 with the joint efforts of local and foreign experts. Designed by the team that produced the animated version of the “Riverside Scene during the Qingming Festival”, the star exhibit at the China Pavilion of Shanghai Expo 2010, the Exhibition Hall features 3D animation technology. Animation screen walls, arc screens, touch screens, circular economy models and business sandboxes are used to vividly display the processes of seeding, chipping, woodchip transportation, pulping, papermaking, paper products applications and also how these production processes contribute to energy conservation, lower emissions and environment protection. Visitors to the Exhibition Hall are hosted by professional guides that are well-versed in local and foreign etiquette and customs, communication and English-speaking skills, and knowledge of pulp and papermaking. The visitors’ reception and upkeep of the Exhibition Hall costs the company several hundred thousand RMB every year.
The Asia Symbol Exhibition Hall has been playing an active role in promulgating science education. Since its opening in 2010, it has received over 2,100 groups of visitors or more than 36,000 people from all walks of life, including the government, enterprises, banks, schools, communities and the media, and is highly recognized by all sectors of society.
