In 2014, Sateri Holdings Limited received its fourth consecutive award from the publication Capital Weekly. The renowned financial journal presented the company, part of the $15 billion RGE Group headed by Indonesian entrepreneur Sukanto Tanoto, with “The Listed Enterprise Excellence Award. The honor acknowledges Sateri’s all-round excellence in business strategy, its achievements in building and maintaining successful investor relations and implementing high-quality corporate governance structures, and its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

This year, Sateri was among 18 winning enterprises selected from more than 1,500 Hong Kong listed companies. Mr. Peter Au-Yang, Chief Financial Officer of Sateri, said, “We are deeply honored to receive this award from Capital Weekly for the fourth consecutive year. The award affirms our commitment in the pursuit of excellence and in maintaining high standards of corporate governance and investor communications. Leveraging our competitive strengths, we are confident that this will continue to give us a leading position in the global specialty cellulose market, and position Sateri to deliver attractive long-term value to our shareholders.”

Sateri Garners Fourth AwardSateri is an international specialty cellulose producer, responsible for the manufacture of viscose staple fiber and highly pure varieties of dissolving wood pulp. Companies use these in-demand raw materials to make a wide range of common consumer products, from textile cloth to pharmaceutical products. The materials also find a use in high-level industrial production, such as the manufacture of tire cords.

Sateri has recently announced the sale of its viscose staple fiber business to focus on its dissolving wood pulp business, particularly in the specialty grade segment. This business model is expected to generate better sustainable returns for stakeholders due to the higher margins generated from specialty grade dissolving wood pulp for its ultra-high purity and use in high-value end markets of the products, and also due to the high barriers to market entry because of its specialized nature, resulting in fewer competitors in the world.
