Asian Agri organised a cooking oil bazaar ("Bazaar Minyak Goreng" or "Bazaar Migor") at the Indonesian Trade Ministry's Pasar Murah event in June 2016.

Held during Ramadan, the event attracted thousands of Indonesians. It was part of public-private efforts to help alleviate chronic inflation of food prices, and Asian Agri has been actively involved in this endeavour since 2009.

This year saw 10,000 litres of cooking oil sold by the palm oil producer. The brands sold are products of fellow RGE company Apical Group, which processes, packages and markets them.

Asian Agri has over the decades established itself as a community-focused producer of sustainable palm oil. It fostered collaborative partnerships with palm oil smallholders, that resulted in increased productivity, higher income, diversified income, and better living standards.

It further demonstrates its repsonsible corporate citizenship by joining national efforts to combat the perennial price inflation of food products that affect many Indonesians during Ramadan.

Working collaboratively with communities for their benefit while supporting existing government initiatives, Asian Agri upkeeps RGE Chairman Sukanto Tanoto's business philosophy of doing what is good for the community, country and climate.
